Principle of macroporous adsorption resin
Macroporous resin is an organic polymer insoluble in acid, alkali and various organic solvents. The separation technology using macroporous resin is one of the new separation technologies developed in the late 1960s after ion exchange resin. The pore diameter and specific surface area of macroporous resin are relatively large. It has a three-dimensional space and three-dimensional pore structure inside the resin. It has many advantages, such as high physical and chemical stability, large specific surface area, large adsorption capacity, good selectivity, fast adsorption speed, mild desorption conditions, convenient regeneration treatment, long use cycle, suitable for forming closed-circuit circulation, and cost saving.
Macroporous adsorption resins are mainly styrene а- Methylstyrene, methyl methacrylate and propionitrile are polymerized by adding a certain amount of porogen divinylbenzene as raw materials. They are mostly spherical particles with a diameter of 0.3 ~ 1.25mm. They are usually divided into non-polar, weak polar and medium polar. They can swell in solvents and are stable to dilute acids and bases at room temperature. From the view of microstructure, the macroporous adsorption resin contains many reticular cavities with micro spheres. The total surface area of the particles is large and has certain polar groups, which makes the macroporous resin have great adsorption capacity; On the other hand, the pore size of these reticular pores has a certain range, which makes them selective to the compounds passing through the pore size according to their molecular weight. According to the principle of adsorption and molecular sieve, organic compounds can be separated by eluting with a certain solvent on the macroporous adsorption resin according to the different adsorption capacity and molecular weight.
